Spartan First Imaging is a groundbreaking initiative by Spartan First and TeleMed Health Services, and marks the launch of Australia's first Indigenous-owned medical imaging service, specialising in radiology and nuclear medicine. SFI aims to bridge the healthcare disparity in rural and remote Australian regions by providing cutting-edge medical imaging technology. Our flagship facility in Kalgoorlie-Boulder is built on its internationally recognised nuclear medicine facility which has expanded to include advanced diagnostic tools. SFI’s mission is to overcome geographical barriers, ensuring equitable access to state-of-the-art healthcare for all to reach underserved communities.

Spartan First is an Indigenous owned, mainstream health services provider offering a wide range of health and well being services to industry, Government and community. CEO, Des Headland, is a passionate business person that is invested in the advancement of this privately owned Indigenous business. Whilst being highly recognised for his AFL sporting history, Des had spent his subsequent years creating, developing, and advocating for the Indigenous community. Des is Nyoongar-Yamatji and is an active, social family and community member, maintaining cultural and sporting commitments.

TeleMed

TeleMed, an award-winning social enterprise, has been the sole provider of nuclear medicine in remote locations of Western Australia, playing a pivotal role in narrowing the healthcare gap between metropolitan and regional areas. With a proud 26-year legacy in Kalgoorlie, we remain steadfast in our commitment to addressing health disparities by ensuring access to crucial access to nuclear oncology and cardiology services for rural populations. Founder and clinical lead Pete Tually is a past recipient of the WA Business News 40-under-40 award and recently honoured as Pioneer Lecturer at the 2023 ANZSNM national conference.
